Anton/Bauer Announces Highest Capacity Battery Ever
Leading the
industry in the development of battery technology for portable professional cameras for
over 28 years, Anton/Bauer has unveiled its HyTRON 120 battery.
The HyTRON 120 is the second in the company's InterActiveª 2000 HyTRON System, joining
the HyTRON 50 as the most versatile high energy batteries available to the industry.
Incorporating an exclusive hydride cell technology, the new HyTRON 120 is the same size as
the industry standard ProPac with over 65% more available capacity. List price is expected
to be about 20% more than the Digital ProPac.
The HyTRON 120 will operate a typical camcorder (at 25 watts) for 4 hours, replacing more
than eight of the old slide in (NP types) in typical operation. "The Slide-In type
batteries can only accommodate a fixed size and quantity of cells, therefore limiting
every aspect of the format," said Michael Accardi, Domestic Sales Manager for
Anton/Bauer. "On the other hand, the Gold Mount has no such limitations. This allows
Anton/Bauer to take advantage of the best technologies and apply them to achieve the
highest performance. The HyTRON 50 and 100 are both perfect examples of this."
Compatibility, always a key concern, is no problem for the HyTRON system - unlike other
so-called "new technology" offerings. The new battery, and its smaller brother
HyTRON 50, are backward compatible with the full line of InterActive 2000 PowerChargers
and Logic Series chargers. A simple chip upgrade will allow older chargers to safely and
seamlessly address the new batteries. The new HyTRON 120 also features the patented
electronics of the Anton/Bauer InterActiveª Digital battery, automatically transmitting
remaining battery capacity to the camera viewfinder - without modification. Over 50
popular camera/recorder products, including DVCPRO and SX, from every major camera
manufacturer feature standard InterActive viewfinder fuel gauge displays.
The Anton/Bauer Gold Mount system, a factory standard on the industry's most popular
cameras, allows instant access to the widest range of batteries available to address every
operating requirement and budget.
